The paper mill closed in the 90s and absolutely crusher the town'so economy.
Just in the past 5 years they've been doing a lot of work to revamp the downtown area.
It's not flashy, but every single building downtown has history to it and a cool story, it just takes a little more digging to find than the big tourist areas.
Beautiful plantations and B&Bs in the area though.
