No. Ole Miss loss did LSU in. Even if LSU had gone to the Cotton and beaten Texas, its highly unlikely LSU would have gone from #8 to #1. Most likely Southern Cal or Penn State would have gotten the AP title.

That's not at all the way I remember it. If we had whipped UT as I knew we would, it counted more then than it does now.

Still hate ND to this day, but I did get to watch Bert and Andy lite'm up 2 years later...no more than 15 yards (in the stands) from where Casanova intercepted ND ball in the S. endzone.
