Maybe. And in that way it seems selfish almost.

I know how today goes.
I choke up when I cross the train tracks on the way to work.

When a goddamn train inevitably comes across my path and blows its lonesome whistle in mockery, I'll choke 'em back.

And when I lie on the wet earth by his grave tonight I'll leave the salt in the grass.

Maybe he doesn't know and doesn't care.
But that boy left a hole in my soul that doesn't get filled.

Every day. Every single day I miss him.
