Not if it's done correctly. As much practice as we've had in the ME, we should be able to stop anything from being launched from NK.

NK and SK have a frick-ton (estimated) of shite aimed at each other all the time. The second shite pops off, Seoul is going to get hammered.

Yeah, aren't both borders 2 big artillery lines waiting to pop off? Itll look like the Battle of Verdun for a while.

Not if done correctly.....and by correctly you take out everything without using nukes.

Really if we just went ahead an eliminated all of these issues. The world would be a better place. Do it now or later...you have to do it.

Atomic Bomb stopped the Japan... would have saved a lot more lives if we would have just popped it off sooner...

Everyone says this, but you're basically falling for NK's bluff.

1) Seoul is out of range from most - though not all - of NK's artillery. FACT.

2) While artillery is easy to hide, they're sitting ducks for US/SK strikes as soon as they start firing. They're going to find out real soon that they may be able to fire, but not for long. Also, this isn't a huge area - while we may not know the exact location of all their pieces, we know where they're going to be.

***3) This is the most important part: do you really think that NK soldiers sit there firing unaccurate conventional artillery like dumbasses at a city 35 miles away while ignoring US/ROK forces blowing up that arse? *** In fact you can make the case that it's better if they do try that; less resistance for us

4) This is conventional artillery we're talking about. Conventional artillery that will be firing in conditions that are ...uh... less than ideal for them. Not to mention that the amount of time they'll be able to have to pull off a sustained sortie is incredibly small. You can't level a city by lobbing 40 year old Soviet shells from a position 50 miles away in a matter of hours.

5) It's extremely unlikely they have the sufficient shells to destroy Seoul from their position, even if that were their only objective. And again - that's assuming it all goes toward Seoul and not the impending attack.

ETA: them getting a bunch of nuke warheads changes the game though. We may be able to knock a few out, but the more they have the greater the chances they can get one across.

If it has to end, then the safest option is to do it now. The longer we wait the worse it'll get, assuming the Kim regime stays intact.
