I don't drink rum often - if I'm drinking it's usually a screwdriver or Wild Turkey American Honey neat. However, my current favorite drink is Bayou Rum-based.

1 shot Satsuma rum liqueur
1 shot Silver rum
1 shot Spiced rum
1 shot OJ
1 shot pineapple juice
1/2 shot simple syrup
1/4 shot grenadine
squirt of lime

Since the key ingredient is Bayou Rum Satsuma LIqueur, I just go ahead and buy their Silver and Spiced rums as well to give them props for producing the Satsuma. And the bottles just look so nice together. I also like supporting local products.

I've never been much of a liquor drinker unless it really tastes good - I couldn't even force myself to drink hard liquor in high school or college. But this combo tastes damn good when you're in the mood for a "fun" drink.

I prefer the rums of Donner Peltier in Thibodaux over Bayou Rum.

I don't think either are great but if I'm buying local. I don't mind Kicking Mule either for a light rum.
