That's not what bi-amped means. You likely have 4 speakers ran parallel to the connect amp.

Which isn't a great idea. Big strain on that amp. He should have an impedance matching speaker selector in between if I'm thinking it out right.

Doubtful. They aren't big speakers. Think they're 4 total 6inch in ceiling speakers at 8ohms.

My only other option in the sonos world was to buy another Connect:AMP at 500$, no thanks.

Correct. I dunno that I've ever understood bi-amping. I believe I meant bi-wiring, maybe.

Bi amp would be using two amps for one speaker. One amp for the woofer and another amp for the mid and tweeter.

No. Not doubtful at all. Likely. Do a little reading on what happens to impedance and the load on the amp when you daisy chain speakers or load up multiple pairs of speakers on a two channel amp without matching the impedance.

I did. LINK

While you're probably right for normal receivers and large speakers, for my 4 individual 8ohm speakers the connect:AMP works and is safe.

I misread. I interpreted it as four PAIRS of speakers. That would blow your amp up.

Oh lord, not to mention my wife would beat my arse for having all those wires - while I'd be putting the actual fire out from my amp.

Tigerwise, would it matter the distance that I have to run to the second pair of speakers? And with the Bose SA5 amp, I would not need an additional receiver correct? Tia
