That's why you don't say anything to a cop/detective. Just say "I want an attorney", nothing else.

If you are guilty - that is good advice from a selfish standpoint. Forget the crime, focus on the process of solving it and put as much interference as possible in the hopes that some inperfection will get you free.

If you are not guilty, you are just bogging down what would be a more rapid solution of the crime. If you didn't do the crime, why would you act as if you did? Don't you realize that if you act guilty, the police will have to expend resources that could be better used in pursuit of the 'real' criminal???

Nah - you don't give a shite. You just want to skate. You must be a very frequent violator of the law to be so adamant about how to get away with it.
