The NFL Free Agency "Legal Tampering Period"/NFL Free Agency Rumor Thread

The free agency period officially opens on Thursday at 4:00 p.m. ET. As a practical matter, it begins at 12:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday, when teams are allowed to officially negotiate and reach unenforceable agreements in principle with players will become unrestricted free agents 52 hours later.
This means that teams with: (1) money to spend; and (2) wants and needs to fill will be pushing aggressively for agents representing free agents to make quick decisions so that teams can move on to the next guy on the list, if the first guy isn’t interested in doing a deal. This forces players who may know nothing about a team and teams that may know nothing about a player to engage in speed dating and even faster consummating.

Should start to hear stuff pretty quickly.

Free Agency would be so much better if quarterbacks hit the market

Calais Campbell to the Broncos, please

Supposedly, the Bears are likely to sign Mike Glennon. Could be 14-15 million per year too, but we'll find out soon.

Yeah, this pales in comparison to the NBA Free Agency. The first week of July is so much fun. Here your biggest name is Mike Glennon

Add the Cowboys to the list of potential suitors for receiver Kenny Britt, per source. They expect Terrance Williams to leave.

Didn't want to start a whole thread but this is HILARIOUS
Bill Polian says the colts had a 1st round grade on Tom brady in 2000
Polian needs to be put in a home.

He is so full of shite

Best part is he thinks that makes him look like a genius but really it makes him look dumb for not drafting Brady and saving his franchise from a lot of losses

NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that Tampa is planning "to make a strong push" for Jackson, according to a source.
The former Eagles and Redskins receiver will be a popular figure in free agency, but Rapoport told NFL Network on Tuesday that the Bucs harbor the "most" interest, saying: "It is real and it is legitimate."

Can't wait to see Winston force the ball to Jackson in double coverage

It mainly shows how horribly the Colts draft.
These people must have had better grades:
Rob Morris - LB
Marcus Washington - LB
David Macklin - CB
Josh Williams - DT
Matt Johnson - OG (doesn't even have a wikipedia page
Let's not mention that the Patriots drafted Brady when they had Drew Bledsoe, and then drafted 8 QBs while having Tom Brady.
The Colts were like, "We have Manning, we don't need no 1st round graded QB as a backup or maybe as trade bait."

That seems really cheap. Should drive the price of guys like Nick Fairley down.

Rams reportedly discussing trade options for Trumaine Johnson
3:05 p.m. ET, Tues., March 7
Fed up of losing talented members of their secondary for nothing in free agency, the Rams opted to tag CB Trumaine Johnson for a second consecutive offseason. However, with a long-term deal unlikely, L.A. is apparently willing to deal its top corner to fuel the rebuilding project under new head coach Sean McVay. The Rams have only two draft picks in the top 100. Johnson, who has allowed a QB rating of only 72.4 throughout his career, can expect to command at least a Day 2 pick as compensation. – John Breitenbach, @PFF_John

How exactly would that be a terrible fit for him?
