If you're trying to be cost effective, I'd go to stine lumber today
Tax free today, and their cedar boards are usually only 50c higher than pine
I bought all of my fence materials there tax free a few years ago

I'm gonna piggyback on this, does stine have cedar pickets? HD and Lowe's are shite for cedar wood and I'm trying to build a small fence under my carport. I've never been to Stine before

Like Dave said, go with Cedar. It keeps the bugs out and last longer than pine. Also go with three runners instead of two. Will make it much stronger. Also I'd go with at least 12-16 foot long runners so you are using less connectors and make sure you stagger the runners.
