To be honest, most "refurbished" items never had anything wrong with them in the first place and many companies will just replace the circuitry inside electronics rather that attempting to track down a problem and fix it individually. It's cheaper for them to do it this way then send the original circuitry to be stripped down and redone. This is not always the case, but many times it is. I'd say that 99% of the time you are buying a refurbished item that is basically either exactly like new or it never had anything wrong with it to begin with.
