What he's wearing is not even close to being a uniform.

As for military experience, I served both regular army and army national guard as a Tanker (M1IP & M1A1). Fought in the First Gulf War.

No problem with it. Clearly, I don't think he was prepared to wear it as he has his tie on underneath and suit pants on.

I see no need to compare the difference between a POTUS who has military service wearing the hat and jacket versus a POTUS who doesn't have military service wearing the hat and jacket.

Sorry if already posted, but I think the apparel is given to them by the unit they are visiting with as a gift. It would probably be disrespectful not to wear it while speaking with them. Now if he starts rocking military garb erre day, that would be completely inappropriate and frankly I'd be worried.
