Just look at Ferguson. There was no evidence that Brown was shot because he was a minority and the DOJ knew it. They started an investigation to "keep it real". When they knew they had egg on their face, they said, "no civil rights were violated but the FPD is still racist".



No that's complete bullsh!t. It has to be at least investigated unless there no way way, no how it could have been racially motivated. Especially with the tensions that already existed between the public and the police in Ferguson. You're dreaming.

One of the reasons that the Ferguson thing got so out of hand was that the DOJ took too long to squelch the rumor that Brown had his hands up when he was shot.

The tensions are there because people view the DOJ investigations as signs of wrongdoing.

I'm not sure if that's true or not but, assuming it is, it seems as yet another reason why the DOJ shouldn't be involved unless there's sufficient evidence.
