Took my wife and our 3 kids to Telluride for a week and it cost over $7000. Went to Copper Mountain two years ago and it was almost 6k. Won't be going again anytime soon.

Its becoming like Las Vegas
Las Vegas doesn't give a shite about the typical middle class tourist anymore. All Las Vegas cares about these days is reaching that hypothetical millionaire millenial. All the new hotels and gimmicks and development in Las Vegas these days is about reaching that demographic
Same with resorts. It's a race to appeal to the ultra wealthy and no fricks are given about anyone else

I've skiid both, but Telluride much more recently. My experience is that Telluride is waaaayyyy more expensive. There is no way to do Telluride on a budget. The sleepy little hippy and outcast mining town is the modern day Aspen/Beaver Creek/Hollywood set. If I could own property anywhere, it would be w/in driving distance of Telluride valley.
However, can't you still do Summit County/Copper on the cheap, if you try?
