These lawsuits extend beyond the XMP triggers, that's what you don't get. They are also going after the Walker trigger that is decades older. Those filing these lawsuits are doing so to get around the PLCAA, they can't attack gun companies on specious neglegent entrustment claims, can't go after them because of intentional misuse, but if they can find any reason to go after them on the basis of a mechanical flaw (a real one like the XMP trigger, a concocted one in the case of the Walker trigger) then they can litigate for years. If they can get beyond a settlement and have a jury decision then they will go after any other company using any part that even passably resembles it. You admit you are late to hearing about this, fix yourself by doing more reading up on these lawsuits going back about 10 years or so.
