He's probably working at his job to provide for the family or he's doing "man stuff" around the house like yard work, car maintenance, house repairs, etc. or the husband could be watching the kids so the wife can have some "me time" at the gym.
Why not find fault with the wife who doesn't want to sit on the couch drinking a beer and hanging out with her husband?
