Have you ever been offered 5 free trips to whatever campus you wish to visit, typically during the biggest game of the year for said school? I can't be mad if a kid wants to go to LSU, but wants to see say...Michigan vs Ohio State for free.

Oh I absolutely don't blame a kid for enjoying the experience either, but you can still do that whether you're committed or not. Not sure how that relates to my statement that silent commitments are worthless.
Plenty of kids commit publicly and still make visits, what's the problem?
