Similar experience for me. Applied to 33 jobs. Got one interview that didn't lead to a job. Got another that led to an adjunct teaching position for $1500/class.
Luckily I can play and teach guitar. If not, I'd be starving right now.

I think my last job search I put out something around 90.
33 is kinda low.
Both ways are probably the wrong way to go about it. Have to make connections.
