Because not all Christians had a problem with the movie. I'm Christian and throughly enjoyed Aronofsky's take on the story, thought it took a lot from the banned/lost Book of Enoch.

Many Bible thumpers aka certain Protestant faiths/followers took great offense to the movie because they believed it did not follow their strict interpretation of the biblical story.

Which would have made for very short movie with no drama and a story we all already knew.

Much like everything else in the Bible, it's a plagerized story from ancient Mesopotamia. I feel sorry for the children who had parents arguing over the historical accuracy of a myth.

If humanity has to start from scratch a few thousand years from now, I wonder what kind of shite they'll dig up and start to grovel to?
