I don't have inside information on this but it is my perception that Collis parlayed his sons'influence in helping us get some good players in here into a seat of prominence in all basketball matters.
When he was quoted after Brady's firing as saying "hire Johnny Jones or Butch Pierre or you set the program back 10 years" that's all I needed to hear to conclude that he should not be as involved as he was in the process.
He got his wish 5 years later and it appears my conclusion was right in this case.
Hell, Dale wanted Johnny to be his replacement when he "retired"...the same Johnny that was lead assistant and head recruiter over the last 4 losing seasons of his tenure, with impending probation to boot.
Yes, time to divest ourselves of that legacy, at least as far as coaching searches are concerned.
