Congratulations, you have fulfilled your mandated and filled your depth chart:
1) Brian Hoyer
2) Deshaun Watson
3) Antonio Pipkin
FA money spent: $15 million
Draft picks spent: R1 (#2 overall)
You've attacked your QB depth chart with aggression, landing a FA like Brian Hoyer and using the #2 pick on Deshaun Watson.
Given the importance of the position: it makes all the sense in the world. Hoyer represents the ideal bridge quarterback: he can still play well, and wouldn't need many practice reps, given his experience with Kyle Shanahan in the past.
Meanwhile, your coaches can spend all their time getting new franchise QB Deshaun Watson up to speed. Given his 3 years of experience in college, it shouldn't be too long before he takes the reins. The only issue here is whether Brian Hoyer would be okay with it, given the fact that he signed a new contract with you and may be relegated to the sidelines quite early.
But at the end of the day, you need to worry about results, not feelings. Hoyer + Watson is an excellent combination, with young Antonio Pipkin waiting around the practice squad for his own shot down the road. You've stacked this depth chart and it should pay off for you.
