Get the government out of the teachers hair. Get the technology out of elementary and bring back basics and play. More Montessori type learning. Small group learning. Fundamentals.

I agree with all of this. However:

Sending children especially young ones to just another school full of technology assaults on their senses. Unequipped to handle the sensory overload as well as using them to data mine them do death is the real culprits.

This is a fantastic point. Kids are being taught to be fully reliant on technology rather than their own selves.

I also believe homework must be abolished. The entire reason kids are at school all day is to work at their studies. Forcing them to continue this work on their spare time is unnecessary and wrong. Everyone needs a break from work and/or studying, especially kids. If you can't teach them what they need to know during school hours then you probably need to find a career you are more skilled at performing.

I witnessed this in my own children.

They come home fried from all the computers and sxreen time. I cut my satellite off a few weeks ago. Completely better. So much calmer. My little girl is stuck on a screen half the day due to her advancements.

Early education used to be center oriented. One would pull kid in small groups to teach them in levels based on the groups while the other worked in centers.

Plenty of outside time as well. Imaginative play. Social interaction.

Now it all screens and PCs. At a little birthday party I witnessed my oldest looking out of place. I asked her what was wrong.... It hit me. The other kids have no idea how to play. They just run around and a few were glued to their phones.

We are adicting them to this stimuli in school and their brains can't process all of it and the subsequent withdrawals.

great article on digital and kids.

Obviously technology can be good but there needs much regulation by those in power especially for our smallest of children
