So are they all the best and therefore one should travel to nyc and only eat filipino food or is that result simply the result of SEO and Yelp?
Again if your premise is to be a great dining town you need hundreds of different ethnic restaurants, than yes New Orleans loses out. But then so does Paris, Tokyo, Barcelona, San Sebastien, Rome, Florence, Mexico City, etc...

It's an interesting debate which you touched on earlier: indigenous culinary identity versus breadth of ethnic options. Truly an apples to oranges comparison and most likely a foolhardy one. I choose to celebrate the whole culinary spectrum, from domestic to international, from high to low brow. Bon appetit!
