Bingo. New Orleans has the most culturally distinctive cuisine, but can't touch the volume of options both domestic and international offered by these other places. I'd actually put D.C, Boston/Cambridge, LA, and Vegas ahead of NOLA as well, and I friggin love NOLA dining scene. It's just a little narrow in scope.

No.
I think pretty much every food critic alive would put a top 4 of NY, SF, Chicago, NOLA. NOLA gets on their because its the only one with a wholly original and distinct food culture.
After that you can argue a lot of places.
