America needs to get involved first by educating people and speaking honestly about the problems within the religion and what they mean for us moving forward. We have far too many people in this country that are willing to adopt a stance based on little to no evidence and carry the battle flag for ignorance. There is a rational, secular way to speak about this topic.

I'll try, but I'm not sure what you're asking. If you are making reference to the violent themes in the Quran, I would argue Christianity's texts are loaded with violence and insane ramblings/pronouncements on a number of issues. The difference is that Christians are no longer waging widespread holy war.
Just as Christianity has moderated over time, so too do I hope that moderate Muslims can rein in the wackjobs over time.

It would benefit us immensely if we could stop those pissed off Muslims from attacking us, don't you think? Maybe changing their views on social issues is a start. It's not impossible when you consider how far Christianity and Judaism have come. We are no longer hunting "witches" ala Salem. They can change too.
