First of all, let's not pretend this needs to be a partisan issue. Many republicans and Christians are against the Muslim ban including Mike Pence himself [2].

Mike Pence tweeted that in 2015, his opinion has changed.

The US refugee program is easily among the most extreme in terms of rigorous vetting across the globe. To be admitted into the US as a refugee, you need to go through a 21 step screening process, an average wait of 18-24 months, about five in person interviews, multiple background checks, and even if you are admitted, the vetting does not stop.

Good point, I'm sure checking the ISIS registration database is one of those steps... oh wait... there isn't a way to tell if they are radicalized.

In the past 40 years, we have given a new home to over 3 million refugees. I'm having trouble finding a definitive source , but it seems that somewhere between 0 and 5 Americans have been killed by these refugees. According to one report, the chance of being killed by a refugee terrorist in the US is one in 3.64 billion [7].

This isn't a 40 year issue, this is a recent times issue.

Yet, the Syrian civil war is a real problem. Since 2011, it has killed more than 90,922 civilians [11]. And across the world over 65 million people are currently displaced [12].

Not our fricking problem.

Who are the people that support this executive order? Are they Christian? How can someone read the teachings of Jesus Christ and turn their back now? So many people are hurting and we have so much to share. And if you think this executive order is at all American, let's not forget the words on the Statue of Liberty. "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free."

Not our fricking problem.

In the past 40 years, no American has been killed on US soil by a citizen of the banned 7 nations, however, nearly 3,000 Americans were killed by citizens of the 4 aforementioned nations where Trump conducts business that are not affected by the ban (mostly victims of the 9/11 attacks) [15].

See my thread on how he didn't choose the countries, Obama did.
