We're maybe 10 years away from the world's first flux capacitor.

You're joking but, if somehow this were to ever happen, the world would instantly end so we better hope it doesn't

It's kind of an underrated aspect in pop culture "time travel" stuff, but realistically there are tiny little things in every day life that can affect the entire world massively. Something as small as a squirrel spotting you and stopping for a few seconds could literally change the world somehow. If the squirrel hadn't seen you, and kept going, maybe it runs into the road, causes a car to swerve and kill the man who cures cancer. Of course it doesn't have to be that dramatic, but even on a smaller scale, just think about your own life. Maybe one time someone let you go first at a stop sign and you didn't even think about it, but the 2 seconds you gained allowed you to meet someone who ended up introducing you to your future wife or something. That person at that stop sign affected your entire life. If someone went back in time and even just walked around being normal, it could literally change absolutely everything about the entire world as we know it. This could never be allowed to happen.
