first reaction as a parent, and I know times have changed, I got caught in an untenable position once as a kid, got jumped by 2-3 healthy guys, held my own until relief arrived but still took a pretty good beating, couldn't hide it from my parents and they wanted to go to war, back then I begged for them to let me handle it
