It isn't. If you believe otherwise you're misinterpreting the data or you're being lied to. Probably the latter.

This law has only been in place for a few years and premiums have double for some multiple times already.
Some, sure. On average, it's produced a slowing in premium growth as predicted.

It hasn't done anything that was promised besides make people with a job pay for the ones without a job.
20M new people with insurance, as promised. :roll eyes:

surely we can come up with something better than this???
There's nothing in the real world that's better that can pass Congress. Covering pre-existing conditions has only 2 solutions - a mandate or money. Republicans roundly denounced both options.

Wanna take a guess as to how many people in Kentucky have enrolled in a QHP so far this open enrollment period vs how many receive Medicaid?
ETA: The only way that you can argue that the ACA has been a success is if you believe that redistributing wealth through the expansion of Medicaid via higher insurance premiums and taxes for the middle class and above is something to strive for.

You are the one being lied to. The ACA has handed the past 2 election cycles to the Repub party. That is no lie and millions of people agree.

How many of that 20M are not getting subsidies? Again, people with jobs paying for others. I would love insurance that someone else has to pay for but it doesn't work like that for me. And I still call it unsuccessful.

If all you do is take out the birth control and medical device "tax", it would be better. You can also open states to each other for more competitive shopping.
Look, I'm no insurance master mind at all, but to say there is nothing they can do better is ridiculous. I was even one of the few people who thinks to not repeal it, just fix the commonsense errors in it.
