assault, illegal tracking, and was more than willing to let Jesse die if it meant he could catch Walt.

Ehh.. Trying to pin him for assault is kind of weak, given the fake hospital call about Marie. He also really beats himself up about it and was even the one who called paramedics and the cops to help Jessie after he wailed on him. He also refused to lie about what he did even though his word obviously would weigh heavier than Jesse's

As for "illegal tracking," that's hardly a moral issue, just a deviation from protocol. Following someone and observing their actions is not exactly illegal. Though he did make a peeping Tom of himself when he picked the wrong RV to climb atop and peer into it. And it did turn out he was onto something all along, which justifies all that really.

When was he willing to let Jessie die to get to Walt? I'm blanking on that.

I really disliked Hank on the first watch, but now revisiting he's one of my most sympathetic characters. I also am more sympathetic to Marie this go around, couldn't stand her before, but like someone else said- she's just a busybody neurotic childless woman with a husband in a dangerous line of work.
