I had a car and a tent and spent a couple weeks solo in Hawaii last year. Went in Feb and weather was great. Did Oahu and Kauai. Plenty of stuff to do on both islands. I'd prolly do Mauai or Big Island instead of Oahu if I had the time, just was easier since had to fly into Honolulu anyways.
I've done a bunch of trips by myself over the years. Hostelled mostly which I prolly wouldn't do as much now but always had a blast and met some interesting people that I'm still friends with today. Once you get over the initial barrier it's pretty easy and even preferred unless you're traveling with the right person. For the first trip Belize is pretty easy. English speaking, good time of the year right now. San Ignacio is a really neat place a lot of people skip over. Can hit one of the islands after that. Much prefer Caye Caulker over Ambergris Caye, and if you're not scuba certified it's relatively cheap to do
