Set a static ip on the LAN interface. Your primary router might be 192.168.1.254 so set the access point to 192.168.1.253

Basically what's been said connect new routers Lan to Lan. Turn off dhcp on ap router and give it a static ip. Other suggestion is to set wifi Ssid and key to the same thing on both routers
