I hate to defend her... but... the train connection to New Orleans has been in talked about for a good while, the downtown to LSU Nicholson corridor tram is a Kip idea that is already in planning, and Zipcars are already in BR.

But here is the thing, Broome is the mayor now and she will have to decide if she wants to continue to sink EBR resources into the train to NO, and the Tram along Nicholson.

The train will require local train stations, parking, and bus service. That isn't free and already local tax dollars have been committed to studying what needs to be done and what needs to be built.

The Tram is even more problematical because it will require 75 million in local dollars plus local dollars to operate. Local funds have already been committed to the project, and the new mayor will have to decide how to fund the parish's portion. A new tax will likely have to be floated.

Yes Kip got the ball rolling, but Broome has to push things to completion, and with Edwards fighting for new state taxes, locals having to pay new taxes to CATS and to the COA and higher state sales taxes, and perhaps another run at Green Light II; Broome will have her work cut out for her.

A new MS bridge where 74/30/River Road meet would be ideal too.

This along with 4 lane-ing Nicholson from Alex Box to the aformentioned intersection would be a game changer. Need cooperation from AP to do it

will never happen though because it benefits evil white in Southeast BR the most
