So the premise of Broome's statement is that we can reduce traffic if more people will take public transportation. News flash: nobody wants to take freaking public transportation. The only way traffic will be fixed is a new MS River bridge in ascension. However, I'm sure that any traffic improvements will be routed to north baton rouge for "economic development." Whatever.

NBR would do well to receive a major infrastructure investment. You want to eliminate the NBR development black hole, create an attractive alternative to what is driving the flight to the suburbs.

NBR is a short drive from large employers and most neighborhoods are open grid. All it would take is some real investments such as a Northern loop/raised airline expressway to begin the process of revitalizing NBR.

But Ascension could use some major investments on HWY 30, 42, and 74 as well. A new MS bridge where 74/30/River Road meet would be ideal too.
