How far back in history does one have claim? Like I thought it seems however far back that fits neatly into your politics and world view.

You don't get to claim property for other people. if you're dead, your claim ends.



Which is probably more of a problem for the jews claiming Jerusalem based on a book that is thousands of years old than the arabs claiming their home that was taken last week or in 1948.

There's nothing neat or easy about this because of conduct of those on both sides. To answer your question, I would say that all those who lived in the British Mandate pre-1948 who are still alive should be allowed to return with their living descendants if they so choose.
