I think initially this will be true - but, in many ways like Reagan did with his direct appeals to the people via television, Trump will use his social media acumen the way he did during the campaign and, after all, he's no coward and Congress is FILLED with them, on both sides of the aisle.

I've been careful not to use the "l" word to describe it, but it is a comfortable win in a competitive election. This was not the nailbiter that folks in the media would love it to be portrayed - Trump won every state that was winnable by a Republican in 2016. If that's not a mandate, it will do until a mandate comes along.
