My take on the Movie was that BP was not a sponsor in this movie

Bump. This board may have a unique take since most of the main players are LA folks rocking LA accents (Malkovich laid his on really thick). But the set was amazingly well done, it's a Berg joint so they weren't hurting for cash. There's tons of non-CGI detail that had to require major consulting, and the big shots look like they drug a rig into the gulf and blew the hell out of it.

And yeah, BP couldn't have liked their criminally neglegent portrayal. The film put this front and center. There was enough human element to carry it without being cheesnuts and Trace Adkin's brief cameo at the end was suprisingly good.

This probably looked great in theaters but for a redbox or stream it's worth a watch.
