I guess I'm stupid because I still don't understand. How would the person get rob's info? Did someone hack into his email or something?

This wouldn't be the first time something like this has happened here.
LAT experienced much worse treatment IRL after someone (Afreaux) did something similar to him.
Being a board veteran and knowing a lot of old timers that post here IRL, this happens more often than you would think. I've debated often changing my name and starting over. This board is nothing but a troll fest now anyway.

You don't post here anonymously unless you get a vpn, use it religiously, never log into anything connected to your life on the computer you are using, and use a throwaway email. That still isn't that much protection either. Even then the US just passed a law giving them free ability to hack anyone that uses a vpn (or anything that randomizes your ips). So you have to be very thorough in what you do to not have someone be able to find out who you are.
