He allegedly pulled a gun from his backpack and shot an officer in the shoulder. The other officer shot and killed Amri, Minniti said. He said the wounded officer's condition was not life-threatening."

Geez, inherited? Wonder how many MP-44's there are around.

Anyway this Tunisian guy with no papers somehow got a pistol in Germany. Perhaps provided by some radical Muslim group, but the point remains.

Strict gun laws are not effective.
