lets not kid each other, LSU is built on great RBs. not good. great. I don't understand how were missing on Cam but apparently we are.
for 2018, Fabian Franklin looks to be very good, the number 69 overall, and he'd commit in a heartbeat but for some reason doesn't have an offer.
still, White would be even better. hes next years number 1 RB and number 4 overall. he does have an offer.
he looks to be a Clemson lean, and they haven't signed a decent RB in forever, though they do have a commit this year from Cordarrian Richardson, the number 102 overall. i doubt that scares him. the other competition appears to be UGA, but they're signing D'Andre Swift, this years number 36 overall.
hopefully we can sell the importance of the RB at LSU vs Clemson. because the two really aren't even close. here's a comparison of the leading backs for both teams
2016
LSU - Guice (1249 yards on 157 carries, 7.96 ypc)
CLE - Gallman (1002 yards on 196 carries, 5.11 ypc)
2015
LSU - 7 (1953 yards on 300 carries, 6.51 ypc)
CLE - Gallman (1527 yards on 283 carries, 5.40 ypc)
2014
LSU - 7 (1034 yards on 187 carries, 5.53 ypc)
CLE - Gallman (769 yards on 161 carries, 4.78 ypc)
2013
LSU - Hill (1401 yards on 203 carries, 6.90 ypc)
CLE - McDowell (1085 yards on 189 carries, 5.42 ypc)
2012
LSU - Hill (755 yards on 142 carries, 5.32 ypc)
CLE - Ellington (1081 yards on 212 carries, 5.10 ypc)
2011
LSU - Ford (756 yards on 127 carries, 5.95 ypc)
LSU - Hill (707 yards on 177 carries, 3.99 ypc)
CLE - Ellington (1078 yards on 223 carries, 5.28 ypc)
2010
LSU - Ridley (1147 yards on 249 carries, 4.61 ypc)
CLE - Harper (761 yards on 197 carries, 3.86 ypc)
hes a 4 hour drive from home to Clemson, and a 5 hour drive to UGA, but a 2 hour drive to Charlotte and a 2 hour direct flight to BR, so distance hopefully wont be some insurmountable issue.

They signed a 5* RB last year in Feaster...

I love White's game. Kid is a stud. Juluke was on the phone with him almost immediately after getting the job, but very little ever came from it.

Based on your numbers it seems as if they are trying to establish a run game, their 196 attempts to our 157, but they lack the dominant player needed. They have a good selling point, in that regard.

I think that is because of the Fournette/Guice split, though.

A lot of that need was a reflection of Les Miles and his approach, he had an over reliance on the run game...balance was not his forte.

Clemson 2018 class is going to be so sick. #1 QB, WR, and if they get white, #1 RB as well.

Right now I'd put White at something like:
Clemson - 45%
UNC - 30%
UGA - 25%
I don't see LSU being able to get involved with him personally, and that has nothing to do with LSU's abilities to recruit. White has alot of pull wanting to keep him close to home. Some guys are national prospects willing to go wherever and some aren't. White is a regional guy.

Don't forget a very real chance of the #1 DE in Thomas (even though I don't think he should be that high).
It could absolutely be the best class by far we've ever signed .

i did miss that, he was number 29 overall, which somehow made him a 4, not a 5, but that had to be as close as you could get.
