I have researched him. I watched him play in high school as well. I get the impression that, although talented, he wasn't SEC caliber. I thought, like most, he lacked size which happens to play a big role on the SEC stage. Not every kid shorter than 6' is Drew Brees.

I've also researched Brennan. Brennan is the better prospect coming out of high school. Numbers don't tell the whole story

Or Russell Wilson, or Fan Tarketon or Joe Theismann, or Michael Vick, or Doug Flutie, or Johnny Football, or Ty Detmer.

"We've learned that Russell is a great football player and a great competitor," Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said. "It doesn't matter what package he goes in. It's not because he's 5-10 that he's a great football player. He's just a great football player. There are some notable players who are likewise, and I think it was Johnny Manziel who said that Russell has opened the door for guys like him. That's true. The last few years, the general thinking was that a guy like Russell couldn't play. That's obviously wrong. but not everybody that's 5 -11 1/2 can be a great football player. All of the elements that make up Russell make him very unique, no matter how tall he is."

You do know Scott won a state championship right? You do know Scoot payed against much better competition than Brennan right? Not to down play Brennan. I am ecstatic he chose to recommit to being a part of the class. But at the same time, Scott nor McMillan are garbage. Both are state championship winning QBs who put up great passing numbers against superior competition. Lets give every QB on the roster a fair chance to prove himself as the best QB for the job. We do not crown QBs by birthright or proclamation.

Throwing out big names who are 6' or under doesn't make Scott any more viable. Those guys are the exception, not the rule. And btw, how many players won a state title that never made it in college? State titles in high school are irrelevant to success in college.
