Houma isn't that bad but it is a bit of a dead end town for the young generations. Nothing here but the oil field, Nicholls, or Fletcher. The need to try and attract some new businesses to the area. Downtown Houma seems to have a bit of gentrification going on which is nice. I never go to the east side for any reason other than dropping food off for work. Also, there are a few neighborhoods that the trash seem to have a hard time penetrating. Luckily, mine is one of them.

Houma and Terrebonne in general started really going to shite when they consolidated the government.

back in the ay it was separated into wards. whichever ward made the money, kept the money.
now it all goes into one pot for the parish to "share".

and by share I mean everyone can drive to MLK are to eat at a shitty chain restaurant. or pass on the new roundabout behind Home Depot.

that's is you're brave enough to go battle the MLK traffic.
place is a 86 car disaster waiting to happen.
