December 15, 2016
2nd UPDATE:
Houma Police announces the arrest of Jasi Jamize Barabin-22yrs old of Last Street for the Armed Robbery and Attempted First Degree Murder that occurred 12-12-16 at the Chevron Jubilee, located at Lafayette Street and Highway 311.
During the investigation, Houma Police interviewed several witnesses and developed information that Jasi J. Barabin was the suspect who robbed the Chevron Jubilee and shot the clerk in the face. Information received led detectives to conduct a search warrant at a residence where Barabin was staying on Roussell Street. Upon executing the warrant, Jasi Barabin was located and taken into custody.
As the investigation continued, Jasi J. Barabin cooperated with law enforcement and was subsequently arrested for Armed Robbery and Attempted First Degree Murder. He was transported to the jail where he was booked on the aforementioned charges. Houma Police detectives are still working the investigation interviewing witnesses and obtaining additional evidence.
Houma Police would like to thank the community for their assistance in this investigation.

Damn i stopped over there on the 7th.. Seems plenty safe enough in daylight but i don't think i would stop after dark definitely in walking distance from some rough area.
