I was facing the same choice as you about 4.5 years ago. When I decided to go back I had a one year old and a wife.
It was rough while I was doing it and even harder on my wife but both of us being on the same page helped a lot.
Ultimately I'm really happy I went back and it already seems likely it was a lifetime ago.
