Probably because they are headquartered in the Larose area. 100.3 used to be the "Ragin Cajun" playing all your favorite swamp pop hits.

There's a Mississippi Top-40 radio station that also uses the 100.3FM channel. I can listen to ESPN New Orleans when I'm on the southshore (I work in NOLA), but I have to stick to WWL Radio when I'm on the Northshore.

The ESPN Radio signal comes from Houma area, not New Orleans, or else you would be able to hear it on the Northshore. Hopefully that Mississippi radio station goes out of business soon. I think it's just the interference of signal that's the problem.
