I've never actually met someone who was enrolled in one of these colleges, much less received a degree for one. Are these schools even accredited? If not, what is the degree even worth? The paper it's printed on?

AACSB accreditation is all that matters.

I know of a few people who enrolled at Phoenix university. Honestly, I don't know if they ever graduated..

In the case of Devry their degrees in engineering technology are accredited by ABET, which is the gold standard for engineering and technology.
