Never understood why they would rely on a committee and not just put every conference winner in the playoffs. It would keep the regular season releivent along with the championship games.

Exactly! Most CF football fans took the bait when the media promoted our first college football playoff thinking it was. It's corrupt as hell and shifts all the best players to the small group of teams that control getting in the playoffs. In other words, get the best players to the schools with the largest fanbase following.
