Sunni Muslims hate Shia Muslims
Sunni countries want regional power and Shia countries want regional power
They use their religion/terrorism to manipulate foreign countries into getting involved in the Middle East to destabilize their enemy's countries therefore giving them more power and control of their only big resource.
