Sorry for my ignorance. who is freshwater. Kiffin is contractually tied to February 17. That would not necessarily prevent LSU from announcing that he has signed a contract with LSU to come on as our OC starting after his contract with AL ends

I could see Saban keeping him there sorting gym socks to the last day of his contract to keep him off the recruiting trail.
