Herman got a little too cute and glad they closed the door on his BS negotiating tactics. Herman is not the coaching genius some of us have drank the cool aid over and will come out when he takes over at Texa$$$. Jimbo didn't want to stretch again, he is the Bobby Bowden of FSU now and just wants his name to come up now and again so he can get raises and retire in Tallahassee. The key to all this working out in LSU's favor is keeping Aranda as DC and going after Kiffin as OC. Herman knows Aranda so I believe LSU needs to sweeten the pot and keep him happy here as well as go after Kiffin as OC. It appears we now have the $$$ to retain and hire great coaching talent. It will be an interesting several weeks as this all comes together or ravels apart....

It doesn't work that way. In the SEC, all schools are brothers, and we don't poach coaches from other fellow conference schools (at least not if it is a lateral move like Kiffen switching from OC at Bama to OC at LSU). When A&M pulled a bush league Big 12-type tactic and hired Chief Chavis from LSU for the same position, they got scorched for it, as they should have.
