So the entire available coaching pool is unproven by your definition. That doesn't mean they're all equal in one big pool and it doesn't matter who you decide on for the job. There are good "unproven" coaches and there are bad "unproven" coaches. O is a bad unproven coach. Exactly what is difficult to understand about this?
You have to get the guy BEFORE he gets his rings. So the entire process of finding a good coach is determining what attributes and skills project most reliably towards a "proven" coach. If an unproven guy has a track record of winning, that's a good start.
